Shreveport Adventure: A Return to KOA Comfort and Delicious Dining

Our stop in Shreveport, Louisiana brought back fond memories of our previous visit in August 2023 when we picked up our beloved RV in Orlando. The Shreveport Bossier City KOA once again proved to be a top-notch choice for our one-night stay.

The spacious pull-through sites, complete with 50-amp hookups, water, and sewer, greeted us just as we remembered. What caught our attention were the concrete pads and patios that added an extra touch of luxury. Not to mention their General Store, stocked with essentials and RV accessories, making life on the road even more convenient.

But the real surprise was having propane on-site. With the chilly weather, my sister and travel companion needed propane to keep her rig warm. The accommodating staff ensured a hassle-free late arrival and situated us side by side, making our stay all the more enjoyable.

The KOA's proximity to local casinos allowed us to disconnect and head to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Casino in Bossier City – a fitting tribute to the legend himself.

Dinner at Drago's Seafood Grill at Margaritaville was an absolute delight. Our waitress, Ciara, brought an infectious enthusiasm and offered fantastic recommendations despite having just come from another job. She insisted on trying Drago's famous charbroiled oysters, and trust us, they were heavenly!

Our meal continued with a twist on the classic wedge salad, featuring giant romaine leaves topped with blue cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and delectable blue cheese dressing. For the main course, we savored redfish prepared in two distinct styles – Cajun for my spice-loving wife and Mediterranean for me, with capers and tomatoes. Both preparations were perfectly baked, and I relished my side of spinach and rosemary potatoes, while Shelly enjoyed steamed broccoli and a few Cajun fries.
