Hey there, fellow adventurers! Let's dive into our recent escapade in Columbia, South Carolina – where every twist and turn brought a new surprise, some delightful, and, well, some not so much.
First off, our stay at Barnyard RV Park. It's true, it's located next to a flea market, but let's just say the buzz was missing. More like a quiet hum, really. But hey, we made the most of our cozy spot and geared up for the adventure ahead.
Now, onto the eats. 7 Mares Mexican was a bit of a mixed bag. The food? Decent. The service? Well, let's just say we've had better. But hey, not every dining experience can be a winner, right?
Next up, EdVenture – a hands-on wonderland for the kiddos. Our granddaughter had an absolute blast exploring everything from human anatomy to firefighting. It's safe to say we all learned a thing or two!

And then there's Sally Salamander – the city's quirky mascot. We had a blast hunting down her colorful artwork scattered throughout town. A fun little scavenger hunt to break up the day!
But let's talk about the real stars of the show – the food! First up, Sukiya. Oh man, their hibachi offerings were out of this world – and those noodles? A game-changer for sure. Definitely a must-try if you're ever in the area.
And let's not forget about Southern Smoke Tavern and Steakhouse. Their barbecue? Mouthwatering. It might not be Texas-style, but it sure hit the spot. A definite must-try for any barbecue aficionado.
Despite a bit of rain, we managed to cozy up by the fire pit once the skies cleared,
savoring the warmth and tranquility of the evening.
Downtown Columbia stole our hearts with its charming shops and bustling cafes. We parked the car and explored on foot, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
And last but not least, our visit to Congaree National Park. Sure, it was a bit waterlogged thanks to heavy rain, but we made the most of it, marveling at the serene surroundings and dreaming of fireflies lighting up the night sky.
And so concludes our Columbia Chronicles – a rollercoaster of ups and downs, but hey, that's what makes for a good story, right?
Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!
Happy RVing!
